Sentinel Tax Advisors was founded by Joseph Conte, an experienced tax professional with a vision to make tax and financial services a calming, supportive experience rather than a source of stress and anxiety.
With more than 20 years of industry experience, Joseph built Sentinel Tax Advisors to be a true partner to its clients, providing personalized guidance, clear communication, and trusted expertise. The firm's mission is to help individuals and businesses feel confident and at ease, knowing they have a team they can rely on every step of the way.

Joseph Conte
Founder, Founder
With over 25 years of experience, Joseph specializes in multi-state healthcare, as well as working with athletes and entertainers. A Florida State University graduate with a BS in Accounting, he is dedicated to helping clients navigate complex tax and financial situations with clarity and confidence. Outside the office, Joseph enjoys outdoor activities, reading, and spending time with his family — including his daughter and twin boys.
Dan Maurer
Partner, Director of Operations
Dan brings a unique combination of expertise with 13 years in tax preparation and 16 years in technology. As a Partner and Director of Operations, he focuses on efficient, accurate service for every client. Dan holds a BA in History from the College of Wooster and enjoys coaching and cheering on the Miami Hurricanes. A former two-sport college athlete, he brings that same drive and dedication to his work that he did when he was playing.
Bobby Bolling
Senior Tax Manager, CPA
Bobby Bolling is a seasoned CPA and former Senior Auditor with experience at several large national accounting firms, where he specialized in serving small to middle‑market businesses across a wide range of industries. Born and raised in Parkland, Florida, Bobby is deeply rooted in the local community and continues to call the area home with his wife and children. Today, he brings a blend of technical expertise, practical business insight, and a community‑focused approach to every client he works with.
Matt Mckeon
Tax Specialist & Client Liaison
Matt joins Sentinel Tax Advisors with a strong blend of business insight, psychology, and competitive drive. A University of South Florida graduate and former USF Bulls baseball player, he brings the same dedication from athletics to serving our clients.
Matt is committed to clear communication, prompt answers, and making sure every client feels supported and at ease throughout the tax process.
Lisa Von Hoffen
Bookkeeping Manager
With over 28 years of experience in accounting and 5 years in banking, Lisa specializes in bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, new business filings, and sales tax. She holds a BA in Finance and Marketing from St. John’s University and is passionate about helping clients keep their finances running smoothly. In her free time, Lisa enjoys traveling, reading, cooking, and edible gardening. A proud NY Yankees fan, she’s also a self-proclaimed foie gras foodie.
AJ Miller
Lead Tax Support
AJ Miller serves as our Lead Tax Support, bringing a strong academic foundation and a client-first approach to his role. A graduate of Baldwin Wallace University with a Bachelor’s degree in National Security and Political Science, AJ also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA). For the past two years, he has excelled as a tax preparer and onboarding work paper specialist on our team. AJ is dedicated to ensuring a seamless experience for our clients, managing everything from file uploads to finalized returns with precision and care.
Kevin Mora
Tax Preparer
Kevin Mora is a skilled tax preparer and financial professional with a strong background in business administration and finance. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Florida International University (FIU) and has gained valuable experience in various roles, including as a banker and a commercial real estate analyst. His tax preparation expertise is complemented by training from seasoned professionals like Joe Conte and Dan Maurer.
Andrea Welding
Tax Preparer & Bookkeeper
Andrea Welding has over five years of accounting experience in bookkeeping, tax preparation, and business operations. A graduate of Valencia College with a degree in Accounting Technology, she has served clients in the creative and beauty industries and brings additional leadership experience from real estate and property management. Based in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, Andrea is passionate about helping small business owners stay organized, informed, and confident in their finances.
Serenity Meacham

With over 24 years of bookkeeping experience and more than two decades preparing personal tax returns, Serenity brings a wealth of expertise to our team. As Treasurer and a dedicated tax preparer, she’s spent the past three years specializing in helping clients navigate the complexities of multi state taxes. Serenity’s deep understanding of tax laws and meticulous attention to detail make her an invaluable resource for our clients.
